Day 5

The major thing to note to day is that my inner foreskin is really swelling up, you can see it in the pictures.  I hoped to avoid this, but I think it's unavoidable.

Otherwise, no real pain, everything looking good.

Day 4

I unwrapped everything this morning and had a shower and inspected properly for the first time the job that has been done.  In previous days I have just unwrapped, taken photos, put the gel on, and wrapped it back up as quickly as possible so to prevent any swelling.

I could already tell in the morning that it's going to swell, and there's nothing I can do about it.  From what I've read, this is completely normal with high circumcisions.

In any case, I am really happy with the job that has been done.  The cut line is really straight and I'm sure it's going to look good when it's healed.  I'd say Dr Waechter is up there with the best adult circumcisers.  You might notice that the line is not completely straight on the top, but this is due to the vein.  Apparently accord to Dr Waetcher, this will sort itself out once it's healed underneath.  Otherwise it's amazingly smooth and symmetrical the whole way around.

I went back to work today with no problems at all.  Chose to take the car though instead of the bike just to be safe.

One real problem is that I feel like I need to cum.  This was making me irritable, so I have just tried to masturbate, which was a mistake.  I thought I could cum just by massaging the head with lube, but I couldn't.  Nonetheless, I kind of feel better for doing it, and I don't seem to have pulled any stitches or caused any issues.  Still, it would have been better not to try actually.

Day 3

Not too much to report today.  Everything looks pretty much the same as yesterday, maybe just a little more swollen.  Today is the last day I need to apply the Freka-Cid (anti-septic) gel/cream/paste/salbe.  From tomorrow I have been told that I can shower, clean the area and just put a bandage around it.  Some bruising on the shaft has appeared, and some swelling on the left side of the penis due to the vein that was removed, but otherwise there isn't any issues. 

I have basically no pain at all at this point, looking forward to unwrapping it properly tomorrow though.

Day 2

Day 2 has been very much like Day 1.  I made sure however this time to put the compression bandage on tight, and not too low (half the problem yesterday is that the frenulum area was not covered at all and allowed to swell), and I think I've got the swelling under control.  In fact I put an extra bandage on and taped it real tight.  I can still feel the head of my penis, so I guess there is no problem.  I would really like to avoid a long, draw out swelling of the inner foreskin, but as soon as the bandages come off on Monday I don't think I'll be able to avoid it really, we'll see.

I have almost no pain, and no problems going to the toilet etc.  I was told not to get it wet, so have been using cling wrap, tissues and a bag over it to stop it from getting wet which has been working.  The pictures are still a little gruesome because I haven't been able to clean the area at all.

Nighttime erections are happening, but everything seems to be staying together and it doesn't hurt too much.

Day 1

The pain today has been completely manageable, and frankly almost non-existent.  I changed the bandage this morning, and it looked fine (pretty much just as it did yesterday) but I didn't do it up tight enough and by the night I could see the swelling setting in.  I've started using ice now, which unlike yesterday does seem to provide a little relief, but I don't know if it actually helps the swelling at all.

Day of circumcision

The appointment was scheduled for 16:30.  I arrived at this time, and waited around about 10 minutes, and then was called in to see Dr Waechter.

He took out a felt tip pen and started marking where he would cut.  I explained that I wanted to keep as much inner skin as possible, so he marked around the most outer edge of this skin at the top.  Then he had a look and made a mark where he wanted to cut at the bottom.

I had figured out that I wanted to remove about 4cm of skin, to ensure that it was tight, but not too tight.  What he marked looked about 5cm to me, so I told him to bring it in a bit.  In hind's sight, I think he probably marked exactly where the cut should have been because looking at it now I think not quite enough skin was taken, but it's still ok.  I specifically did NOT want my frenulum removed, which he said was no problem as it isn't so thick and isn't short.  I think he would have removed it though if I didn't mention it to him.

After that I went into the operating room and the nurse started setting up.  Soon after Dr Wächter came in, and doused the whole area with alcohol.  Tip for anyone else out there doing this – don't shave right before hand.  I had only shaved my balls, because I didn't want any hair getting in the way after, but the alcohol solution really stung, and continued to sting throughout the whole operation.  If you want to shave, do it at least the day before.

Dr Waechter then gave me a few injections, which didn't really hurt very much at all.  Soon after I couldn't really feel my penis anymore.

Because of the way it was setup, I couldn't see them actually doing the operation.  Unfortunately, I could feel a few cuts (not fully though), so they had to give me a couple more injections.  I felt nothing after that.

The whole thing took about 30 minutes, during which the cauterizer seemed to be used quite a bit (that may be completely normal, I don't know), but otherwise we chit-chatted though most of it.  Afterwards, he showed me the result and explained that on the top it wasn't completely straight because of the vein, but it would be after healing.  It looked really good to me though – the cut was straight and even, not like some butchered jobs you see on the internet.  He had put in a load (about 20) stitches around the cut line.

He then put some thick anti-septic paste (Freka-Cid) around the wound, and show me how to do it because I would have to do it for the next three days.  He basically plastered that on thickly, and then put a compression bandage around it.  I was to do the same once each day for 3 days.

I then left and drove myself 1.5 hours back to Munich.  On the way back, I started to feel it just where the vein used to be.  I really wouldn't have had hardly any pain at all had it not been for the vein.

I thought maybe icing it would remove some of the pain I was feeling but I was wrong.  Best bet was just to lay down, elevate that area and stay still.

We will see what it looks like tomorrow.

Day before the circumcision

I have always had a very short foreskin, but not really short enough.  It always stayed behind the head, but in certain circumstances it would start to go over and I found this very uncomfortable so would be often be figiting to pull the skin back.

I also have a large vein on the top of my penis that caused me trouble and would hurt from time to time and wanted that removed.

I live in Munich, Germany so finding someone to do the circumcision the way I wanted it was not all that easy, as most people in Germany are not circumcised.  I went to one doctor in Munich, but he had no idea about doing the cut "High and Tight" (as I wanted it), and he was a bit perplexed as to why I'd want it done at all.

Further to that, it is not easy to get a recommendation for a doctor here in Germany.  There are a few German oriented sites, like circlist.de (which is quite good, and where I eventually did find a doctor) and eurocirc (who will not let you talk about doctors, because they say it's against the law in Germany – something I doubt, I think the guy just gets off by trying to get you to call his "hotline").

For me, it was important to see the outcome from a particular doctor before I went with them.  What was most important to me is that the doctor would do a high and tight circumcision and that the scar would be smooth and even the whole way around.

I eventually found some pictures on ohnevorhaut.de from a doctor in Fürth (Dr Wächter), not far from Munich (about 1.5 hours drive).  I made and appointment to go and talk to him, and he seemed to know what he was doing, so I made the appointment for the 26^th of August to get it done. 

Dr Wächter said he could remove the vein as well as giving a high and tight cut, all for 330 euros, which I think is probably the cheapest rate I've seen in the first world.
